Our Bulldogs Travel program is designed for players who want to grow in a competitive, development‑focused environment. Recognized nationally, our teams earn top accolades, and many athletes advance to high school, college, and even professional basketball. Players learn fundamentals, teamwork, leadership, and a strong work ethic—while having fun and building a true love for the game.
There are two different opportunities to participate.
We field multiple teams per grade and place players where they’ll grow, compete, and thrive. Teams are formed by skill level to ensure the right development environment for every athlete (2nd grade teams are divided evenly). While we work to find a spot for all players, some may be placed as practice players based on roster availability. Our program features teams across Grades 2-8 (8u–14u), high‑school Prep Hoops teams (15u–17u), and Adidas Gold 3SGB teams (15u-17u) —offering elite competition, national exposure, and top‑tier recruiting opportunities through the country’s premier grassroots circuits.
We are proud member of the Adidas Gold Circuit. 3 STRIPES GOLD BASKETBALL (3SGB) is a premier, multi-session circuit featuring elite travel basketball programs from across the United States. Designed for serious athletes with aspirations of playing at the collegiate level, 3SGB provides players with the opportunity to showcase their talents in front of college coaches, scouts, and recruiters. As a division of the Adidas 3SSB (Three Stripes Select Basketball) - the top tier of the Adidas Basketball Circuit - 3SGB offers a high-level competitive platform. Our coaches bring extensive experience and a true passion for teaching the game. They focus on fundamentals, offensive and defensive concepts, teamwork, and the qualities needed to be a great teammate and student‑athlete. Sportsmanship, discipline, nutrition, and overall well‑being are emphasized throughout the season. All coaches are background‑checked and trained through Hoops4Health.
Our program focuses on teamwork, discipline, communication, leadership, and healthy habits. Our professional coaches help players grow as athletes and as people, emphasizing strong fundamentals, skill development, basketball IQ, and team concepts. Our priority is improving each player’s game and teaching structured, team‑oriented basketball. We also encourage players to continue developing on their own with purposeful drills outside of practice.
Players can expect to play roughly 20–30% of each game. While we want to compete, development comes first, and players grow through on‑court reps. Playing time is earned through commitment, effort in practice, being a positive teammate, and making an impact in games—defense, rebounding, teamwork, execution, and unselfish play matter just as much as scoring. As players get older, playing time becomes more competitive. (National teams do not follow a set minimum.)
Travel players are provided a PDF playbook as well as online drills plus an at home program that players can do on their own. We feel this will really enhances the experience for the players. Coaches will refer to these throughout the season. This allows players to study our playbook as well as having many drills to help help develop outside of practice.
Each season, players can earn Hoops4Health All‑Academic Honors by demonstrating excellence in the classroom. School comes first, and basketball is a privilege. Players with a 3.5 GPA (A‑) or higher qualify and receive a special medal. To verify eligibility, families must submit the most recent report card or a teacher recommendation if no letter grades are given.
We teach healthy lifestyle habits alongside basketball fundamentals. Throughout the season, players are encouraged to make positive choices, and families receive a healthy food guide at the start. Each year we host “Nutrition Week,” where teams learn about proper rest, nutrition, and exercise—key habits that support better athletes, better students, and healthier kids.
High school players gain multiple opportunities to compete in front of scouting services and college coaches. Our program has helped many athletes navigate the recruiting process and earn the exposure needed to play at the next level. With a strong network of scouts and college programs, we ensure our players receive maximum visibility to pursue their goals as future student‑athletes. We are proud to have developed over 500 high school players and more than 40 who have gone on to play college basketball, with several competing professionally and internationally. At Hoops4Health, we support every athlete in pursuing their dream of playing high school basketball and beyond.
Since 2010, Hoops4Health teams have earned over 100 tournament championships, competed in top national and NCAA LIVE events across the country, and achieved both local and national rankings. Our players compete at leading high schools in the North and West suburbs, with many earning full college scholarships and some advancing to professional and international play. Above all, our athletes excel in the classroom and grow as leaders as we focus on fundamentals, strong character, and healthy lifestyle habits on and off the court.
“Hoops4Health shaped me as a player and a person. The coaches truly care, push you to reach your potential, and work hard to get players real exposure. I wouldn’t be where I am today without this program.”
— Brian Conaghan, New Trier → UW‑Whitewater
“Hoops4Health taught me the game, nutrition, and how to take care of my body. The coaches genuinely care and the recruiting support was incredible. They helped me get to the college level.”
— Karlo Colak, New Trier → Illinois Wesleyan
"Hoops4Health gave our athlete a place to both "show and grow." There are a lot of teams that give kids a way to be seen, but few that work on getting better as a player, a teammate, and competitor."
— Parents of Griffin Ryan, New Trier → University of Pennsylvania (D1
“Coach Brendan worked tirelessly to find the right academic and athletic fit for our son. His guidance and connections led to 15+ offers and ultimately a life‑changing scholarship.”
