Designed for serious athletes with aspirations of playing at the collegiate level, 3SGB provides players with the opportunity to showcase their talents in front of college coaches, scouts, and recruiters. As a division of the Adidas 3SSB (Three Stripes Select Basketball) - the top tier of the Adidas Basketball Circuit - 3SGB offers a high-level competitive platform.
The elite level of Bulldogs High School Travel has a proven history of success in player development, competing against the top teams in the country, and guiding athletes through the college recruiting process. Through high-level competition, increased exposure, and dedicated recruiting assistance, numerous players have gone on to compete at the collegiate and professional levels. Each athlete learns the value of team basketball while developing a strong work ethic, leadership skills, and a solid foundation in fundamentals.
Our coaches bring extensive experience and a true passion for teaching the game. They focus on fundamentals, offensive and defensive concepts, teamwork, and the qualities needed to be a great teammate and student‑athlete. Sportsmanship, discipline, nutrition, and overall well‑being are emphasized throughout the season. All coaches are background‑checked and trained through Hoops4Health.
15U - Coach Tommie Meyers
16U - Coach Steven White
17U - Coach Brendan Kolton
Travel players are provided a PDF playbook, online drills, plus an at home program that players can do on their own. We feel this will really enhances the experience for the players. Coaches will refer to these throughout the season. This allows players to study our playbook as well as having many drills to help help develop outside of practice.
Each season, players can earn Hoops4Health All‑Academic Honors by demonstrating excellence in the classroom. School comes first, and basketball is a privilege. Players with a 3.5 GPA (A‑) or higher qualify and receive a special medal. To verify eligibility, families must submit the most recent report card or a teacher recommendation if no letter grades are given.
At Hoops4Health we are there to help each player complete their dream of playing college basketball. Over the years a number of players have gone on to play college ball at all different levels including D1, D2, D3, NAIA, and JUCO. We help guide each player through the whole recruiting process. Included with playing on a 15-17U Spring/Summer High School Regional and National Team is Recruiting Assistance.
"Hoops4Health gave our athlete a place to both "show and grow." There are a lot of teams that give kids a way to be seen, but few that work on getting better as a player, a teammate, and competitor."
— Parents of Griffin Ryan, New Trier → University of Pennsylvania (D1)
“Coach Brendan worked tirelessly to find the right academic and athletic fit for our son. His guidance and connections led to 15+ offers and ultimately a life‑changing scholarship.”
— Parent of Terry Smith Jr., Curie → Loyola New Orleans (NAIA)
"Brendan and the rest of the coaches at Hoops 4 Health helped me develop into the player I am today. I started working with Brendan in one-on-one sessions during Covid where he helped enhance my skills and understanding of the game. The next two years, I played on the Hoops 4 Health AAU team where I was allowed to play through my mistakes and become more comfortable as a player. Brendan always made the utmost effort to insure that I had exposure and opportunities to play in college." (Tyler Van Gorp, New Trier - Williams (D3)
"Brendan Kolton is the best Coach that has coached my son DeAndre Heckard. Being a part of Hoops4health family for many years put my son on the map of basketball. Brendan doesn't just teach you the game of basketball but all the fundamentals and skills that is needed to succeed to that next level playing field. He has a big heart and loves each and every player under him. Without Brendan I don't believe DeAndre's name would've been known across the basketball world. He took personal time out to email college coaches, call college coaches, send videos of his games and did highlight videos on his behalf. What I love about Brendan Kolton and the Hoops4health family, he stayed in contact with DeAndre well after his AAU career and high school. He still cares about his well being as well as his education. The Heckard Family will always support and be apart of the Hoops4health Family." Angie Heckard, Parent of DeAndre Heckard - Romeoville → Stephen F Austin (D1)
"Hoops4Health has taught me so much about nutrition and basketball throughout the years! It’s an amazing program with great people that really care about your health and your performance. Personally, I played for them for 3 years, and now I’m playing college basketball. The recruiting assistance was amazing as my Coach Brendan did everything in his power to help me get to the place I am today. Whatever is asked from them, they provide! I would strongly recommend Hoops4Health if you want your kid to be looked after at all times." - Karlo Colak - New Trier → Illinois-Wesleyan (D3)
