Our Bulldogs Travel program is for all players looking to develop their skills on a more competitive level. It has risen to be one of the most respected clubs throughout the country and well known for developing players. Teams have earned local and national accolades. As well, a number of players have gone on to play High School, College, and professional basketball. Each player will learn team basketball, work ethic, leadership skills, and the fundamentals. Most of all, we want each player to have fun and build a love for the game. Basketball has had a positive impact in the lives of each Hoops4Health coach and we strive for that in every player.
We understand there are conflicts with other sports, so we do our best to schedule practices/tournaments to not conflict. Also, if there are many players on one team with similar conflicts we will try and adjust the schedule accordingly.
Travel players get the benefit of a 15% discount off fall Hoops4Health programs.
Our coaches bring extensive experience and a true passion for teaching the game. They focus on fundamentals, offensive and defensive concepts, teamwork, and the qualities needed to be a great teammate and student‑athlete. Sportsmanship, discipline, nutrition, and overall well‑being are emphasized throughout the season. All coaches are background‑checked and trained through Hoops4Health.
Our program focuses on teamwork, discipline, communication, leadership, and healthy habits. Our professional coaches help players grow as athletes and as people, emphasizing strong fundamentals, skill development, basketball IQ, and team concepts. Our priority is improving each player’s game and teaching structured, team‑oriented basketball. We also encourage players to continue developing on their own with purposeful drills outside of practice.
Players can expect to play roughly 20–30% of each game. While we want to compete, development comes first, and players grow through on‑court reps. Playing time is earned through commitment, effort in practice, being a positive teammate, and making an impact in games—defense, rebounding, teamwork, execution, and unselfish play matter just as much as scoring. As players get older, playing time becomes more competitive. (National teams do not follow a set minimum.)
Travel players are provided a PDF playbook as well as online drills plus an at home program that players can do on their own. We feel this will really enhances the experience for the players. Coaches will refer to these throughout the season. This allows players to study our playbook as well as having many drills to help help develop outside of practice.
Each season players can earn Hoops4Health All-Academic Team. These players not only exemplify excellence on the court but most importantly off the court in the classroom where it most counts. Our emphasis on academics is extremely important. Basketball is a privilege. School always comes first. Members of the Hoops4Health All-Academic Honors will receive special medals. To be eligible to earn the Hoops4Health All-Academic Honors the player must have a minimum 3.5 GPA (A-). The most recent report card must be handed in to a Hoops4Health coach. If a letter grade is not given players can get a teacher recommendation.
At Hoops4Health teaching a healthy lifestyle is as important to us as teaching basketball fundamentals. Throughout the season players will be reminded about making healthy choices. At the beginning of the season parents will be sent a healthy food option list to discuss with their kids. Each season Hoops4Health dedicates a week to discussing and promoting a healthy lifestyle called "Nutrition Week." The benefits of healthy eating and living habits are discussed with each team. We teach the importance of overall healthy lifestyle which includes proper rest, nutritious meals, and exercise. These elements can help lead to being a better athlete, student, and healthier person.
We are proud to have had over 500 high school and 40 players go on to play college basketball. As well, a number players have gone on to play at the professional and international level. At Hoops4Health we are there to help each player complete their dream of playing high school basketball and beyond.
Since 2010, Hoops4Health teams have earned over 100 tournament championships, competed in top national and NCAA LIVE events across the country, and achieved both local and national rankings. Our players compete at leading high schools in the North and West suburbs, with many earning full college scholarships and some advancing to professional and international play. Above all, our athletes excel in the classroom and grow as leaders as we focus on fundamentals, strong character, and healthy lifestyle habits on and off the court.
